On 22 April 2024 in Prishtina, the 8th International Orthodontic Conference was organised by the Kosovo Association of Orthodontists – Shoqata e Ortodontëve të Kosovës as part of World Orthodontic Day. The event brought together academics, orthodontic specialists and dental professionals from Kosovo and several other countries.
Bi Medical provided corporate support to the conference, which was held under the theme “Modern Applications in Orthodontic Practice.” In addition to our contribution to the scientific programme, we participated with our stand in the exhibition area, where we had the opportunity to present our products for orthodontics and modern dentistry to the attendees.
One of the leading names at the conference was the internationally recognised Brazilian orthodontist Prof. Dr. Kleber Meireles, known for his work in the field of orthodontic biomechanics. In his scientific presentation titled “Biomechanics in Orthodontics,” he addressed the biological and mechanical foundations of orthodontic forces, bends used during different stages of treatment, loop systems, torque control and clinical approaches for complex cases.
As part of our cooperation with Orthero, for which Bi Medical is the exclusive distributor in Kosovo, we also contributed to the participation of Dr. Adile Salehli Tosun in the conference. In her presentation titled “Practical Approaches to the Use of Clear Aligners in Dental Practice,” Dr. Adile Salehli Tosun shared her scientific knowledge and clinical experience regarding the use of clear aligner treatments in everyday dental practice.
Through this contribution, we not only provided corporate support to the event but also helped bring international scientific expertise closer to orthodontic professionals in Kosovo. The presentation included in the programme through our cooperation with Orthero, for which we are the exclusive distributor in Kosovo, created an opportunity to evaluate more comprehensively the role, advantages and importance of modern clear aligner systems in clinical practice.
The conference programme also addressed various areas of contemporary orthodontics, including orthodontic preparation for orthognathic surgery, functional orthodontic treatments, mini-screw applications, distraction osteogenesis at the alveolar level and the management of impacted palatal canines. With contributions from local and international speakers, the event delivered a comprehensive programme combining scientific knowledge, clinical experience and modern treatment approaches.
At the Bi Medical stand, we presented our orthodontic products and innovative clinical solutions to dentists and orthodontic specialists. During direct meetings with participants, we shared detailed information about the technical features, fields of application and solutions our products offer for a variety of clinical needs.
At our stand, we also presented the modern clear aligner solutions of Orthero, for which we are the exclusive distributor in Kosovo, and informed participants about the system’s clinical applications and its contribution to treatment processes. In this way, the topic of clear aligner treatment addressed in the scientific programme was further supported by the products and solutions presented in the exhibition area.
